Privacy Policy

1. Developer and contact

MantaScale is developed under the AxonLume brand. The legal seller name is shown on its App Store product page. For privacy or data questions, contact support@axonlume.com.

2. Local storage by default

MantaScale requires no account or sign-in and contains no advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDK. Profiles, measurement history, calculated results, bound scales, and pairing credentials remain on the current device by default and are not uploaded automatically to AxonLume. Pairing credentials for encrypted scales are stored in the iOS Keychain.

3. Bluetooth and profile fields

The app uses Bluetooth to discover and connect to a compatible scale selected by you and to read measurements. Sex, date of birth, and height are used for on-device consumer body-composition estimates. A small number of scales require these fields to operate; in those cases, the app sends them only over the nearby Bluetooth connection to the scale currently connected. They are not uploaded to a MantaScale server.

4. Apple Health

Only with your authorization, MantaScale reads weight from Apple Health or writes weight for the profile you designate as the iPhone owner. Refusing or withdrawing access does not affect local weighing. MantaScale does not upload Apple Health data to the developer.

5. Body-composition limits

Body fat, water, muscle, bone mass, basal metabolism, and body score are consumer estimates based on impedance and profile formulas. Hydration, food, exercise, and device differences affect them. Use them only to observe long-term trends under similar conditions—not for diagnosis, risk assessment, or treatment.

6. Unknown-device diagnostics

“Help support my scale” starts only when you choose it. For a limited time, the app may record the target device’s advertised name, signal strength, service and characteristic identifiers, readable values, notification changes, raw protocol bytes, and test-stage markers. Raw bytes may contain the test weight or a device-embedded identifier.

A diagnostic package excludes names, dates of birth, heights, measurement history, Apple Health content, CoreBluetooth peripheral UUIDs, and device keys. It is never uploaded automatically and leaves the device only after you select a recipient in the iOS share sheet.

7. Exports, feedback, and email

CSV, JSON, and regular feedback packages are generated locally. You decide where they go through the system share sheet. If you email support or send a diagnostic file, your email provider, our email provider, and AxonLume process the content you voluntarily provide to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue.

8. Purchases

Apple StoreKit processes in-app purchases. MantaScale does not read payment-card credentials; it verifies only whether the Pro entitlement is active.

9. Your controls

You can clear measurements, member profiles, bound scales, and Keychain pairing credentials from “Me → On-device Data.” Uninstalling also removes app-local data. Export anything you want to keep first. Weight already written to Apple Health must be managed separately in Apple Health.

10. Family members

Add another person’s profile and measurements only with that person’s authorization or the authorization of their legal guardian.

11. Policy changes

If a future version introduces accounts, cloud sync, automatic uploads, advertising, or third-party analytics, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure before release.
